2022 – Smokey

After missing out on two full seasons of Robot Competitions, we were thrilled to return for Rapid React. We had unfortunately lost our previous donated build space, so we were working out of the space carved out of our lead mentor's generously offered (heated) garage. We also still needed to mask, so fogged up safety glasses were a constant challenge. Still, everyone was excited to be back building robots... or to start building robots for the first time!

Smokey got its name from the fact that we tried using new REV brushless Neo 550 motors on the robot and they burned out while practicing at our first competition. It was a literal smoke test!

Smokey was modified from the designs for the 2022 Everybot, but the foundation was a first-of-its-kind, low-resource, west coast chassis designed by Delta Prime!
